When I saw my guest T, I noticed that her complexion was a bit pale, probably because she didn't sleep well the night before. T was wearing denim shorts and a cap, probably trying to hide her tired face from others.
"You look tired. Did you sleep badly last night?" I asked T as I invited her into the room and had her sit on the edge of the bed.
"Yeah, I slept badly, like I didn't sleep at all. That's why I messaged you on Instagram to try and find you," T replied.
"Hmm, what's been keeping you up at night?" I asked.
"I don't know where to start. Or maybe, it's about a guy friend of mine. He's been really good to me, but I don't know if I should be with him," T explained.
"Hmmm? If you get along well and he treats you well, shouldn't you be together?" I asked.
"But he has a girlfriend," T said.
Hearing T's response, the temperature in the room seemed to drop a few degrees.
"Well... that's really difficult," I quickly regained my composure.
"His girlfriend is actually his high school classmate, but she went to study in the US later, so they're in a long-distance relationship. We met when we were doing a project together earlier this year. From the beginning, I felt really comfortable with this guy. He's funny, knowledgeable and seems to know a lot about everything. After a few weeks, we were inseparable, and our friends thought we were already together. But last Friday, I finally asked him, what's our relationship now? He was silent," T recounted.
T's eyes flickered, as if she was reliving that scene in her mind. She sighed softly and said, "He said we're the best of friends, but he knows he has some feelings for me. He said that if he didn't have a girlfriend, we would definitely be together. But the fact is he does have a girlfriend, and he doesn't want to hurt her or me."
I understood her dilemma all too well. "What do you think? Will you wait for him?" I asked softly.
T was silent for a moment and then shook her head, saying softly, "I don't know, I really don't know. I don't want to be the third party and ruin their relationship. But I can't bear to let go either. I'm afraid that if I let go, I won't have a chance with him again."
I knew that there was no easy answer in such situations. Looking at T's lonely figure, I patted her on the shoulder and said, "Maybe I can give you a good massage to help you relax."
The lights were dimmed, and soft music played in the room. Massage oil was poured slowly onto T's back as I gently massaged her, soothing her tense muscles from crying too much. Gradually, T's body relaxed, and she felt a little warmer. T closed her eyes and enjoyed the massage, as if she had forgotten all her worries and conflicts.
Finally, T stood up, patted her cheeks and smiled, "I feel much better now. Thank you for the massage and company."
"No problem, you can always come find me if you need to. But if you have a boyfriend, don't come to me for a massage anymore. So, should I hope to see you again or not?" I teased T.
T smiled and turned to leave for the bathroom to freshen up.
Zhang Ailing once said, "The third party is just a shadow, but now it has become a reality, a tangible reality that can be touched." I hope everyone doesn't have to be a shadow and can find their true love. I hope through this story, you can get to know me and my work a little better. If you are interested in getting a massage from me, you can DM me on Instagram or sign up on my website. Thank you!
